Girls Aloud give us all a kick in the pants
By Alex Fayle

It seems everywhere I go in the blogosphere people are spouting the message of action—thinking and talking aren’t enough. If you want to make a change, you gotta act.

And now pop band Girls Aloud have created an anthem for the “stop wishing, start living” crowd.

Their song Revolution in the Head from their latest album, Out of Control, is catchy and has a (literally) kick-ass chorus:

Revolution in the head don’t count for nothing
You gotta, you gotta move that ass
Revolution in the head don’t count for nothing
You gotta, you gotta beat the past
Revolution in the head don’t count for nothing boy
You gotta move the mass
Revolution in the head don’t count for nothing
You gotta, you gotta move that ass

It’s also sufficiently fluffy with lots of ohs, heys, and tings to make it a fun tune to bounce to.

As active as I am, I spend a lot of time in my head, so this song is a great (and fun) reminder to leave AlexWorld™ periodically and get my ass moving.

And this week I’ve done just that—no fiction work but lots of background stuff that’s going to take the blog where I want it to go.

So, how about you? You playing with a revolution in the head or have you taken it out to the streets?

    It’s been in my head for a long time - I think I was too scared. Now I’m actually going for it, which makes a big difference.

    I’m trying to take it to the streets through my blog. I really enjoy the articles on this site because there are days that I don’t take as much action as I should. I give myself a swift kick in the butt and knock out an item from my “to do” list.

    I think I should download that song and listen to it whenever I need a boost.

    @RhodesTer
    I’m a talented little tart? Really? Wow! What type of tart? Raspberry? Mincemeat? Or maybe a savoury tart like a cheese and onion tart…

    @Joely
    Yay for going for it! Good luck keeping it on the streets!

    @Friar
    Good for you for choosing a nice Canadian girl like Avril as your role model.

    @J.D.
    A life of action is much preferable, eh?

    @Vodkamom
    Didn’t you know that since the 1990s other than rich old men, to be successful you have to be cute. Talented, not so much, especially in music where AutoPitch can help you sing…

    @Karl
    I’ve been starting my morning with this song recently. I makes me super perky. Thanks for the kind words about the blog and I’m glad it helps you get moving on the to do lists.
